Well, I had been doing pretty good and healthy for some time now. So its only fitting that something comes up I suppose. I got bloodwork back that didn't look to hot. My potassium was through the roof and my kidneys aren't functioning...causing high BP. If you know me and my feelings about transplant, this was one of my biggest fears. I know quite a few patients with lung transplants that have needed kidney transplants later. I know a kidney transplant seems like nothing compared to a lung transplant, but its fear of the unknown-and the fact that my body, slowly, isn't MINE anymore. It gets frustrating wondering why the body I was given wasn't strong enough to stay intact, instead having to be replaced piece by piece. I may, and I hope, I'm jumping ahead of myself. My doctors are great and will fix me up fine, its just that I have to be "fixed" again thats disturbing. You really do trade one set of problems for another...
On a good note, my 3rd dog Liberty, will be starting her therapy dog classes tonight. She has big paws to fill, as Sarge is doing awesome with it..and Henry slowly following. Also, a good friend just had a beautiful baby girl-another proof of life being precious. She's a sweet little baby and is lucky to bave a great Momma. Another friend just got engaged, and I couldn't be happier for her! It's been something she's deserved for a long time. As all this good news comes along, I hope to be updating my blog shortly with more good news after the doctor apointment.
Count your blessings <3
